Game Night

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAMy fiance is love games. To the point where sometimes, when I know he may not want to go out somewhere, I pick a place with games to lure him in. He recently bought this new game called PANDEMIC Legacy. It is a fun game, in my opinion, for a couple reasons:

  1. It doesn’t take 8 hours to play. The average game lasts about an hour. I’m not falling asleep at the table hoping to lose so I can go to sleep when I play (AKA: Risk).
  2. We have the legacy version which means there are new rules each game and that certain events LAST FOREVER! Like if a character expires, he or she really expires— you can never use them again! If a disease can never be cured, it can NEVER EVER be cured. Each game, there are new cards to open and rules. I think the way the game evolves so much is why I don’t get bored with it.
  3. The concept is fun and strategic. You play against the board, not each other. As someone who is not very competitive, I like this aspect a lot.

Tonight we had a good time playing the game and actually won! Our record has been on and off. I just got my new Anthropologie wine glasses so I obviously broke those bad boys out and drank some Prosecco. I love these wine glasses because they have beautiful little gold star clusters on them and a wide bowl. I know Prosecco should go in a flute but I am not THAT adult yet… I just got non-Ikea wine glasses people!

Anyways, if you ever want to have a fun night in, take out a game… You will forget how fun it is to play a game with your friends and loved ones. Throwing alcohol in the mix just adds to the fun… Unless you drink a bit too much– you won’t be the best player.. 😉
